First run in 1985 as the Joe Namath Stakes at a mile, the Honey Fox Stakes has had multiple distance and surface changes in its history and was renamed the Honey Fox in 2001. Since 2009 it has been run a mile on turf for fillies and mares 4 year and older. One Fine Lady, Fieldy and Centre Court have won the race twice with other winners including I Lost My Choo, Wait a While and Rare Blend. Trainer Bill Mott has won the race seven times with jockey Jerry Bailey having eight wins in the race.
