Dylan Davis, the son of retired jockey Robbie Davis, began riding in 2012 and came into his own during winter 2017-18 at the Aqueduct meet. He picked up his first graded stakes win there on Great Stuff in the Toboggan Stakes and on Feb. 18 won six races on a single card, tying a New York Racing Association record. He also won five races on the Feb. 4 Aqueduct card.

Davis won his first Grade 1 race in October 2021, when he guided Mutamakina to victory in the E.P. Taylor Stakes at Woodbine. Davis earned his first meet riding title in 2022, taking the Aqueduct winter meet title with 63 wins.
On May 13, 2022, Davis rode his 1,000th career winner, winning aboard Heels Together at Belmont Park. Davis finished that year with career bests in wins (195) and purse earnings ($13,215,465).
