A turf race for fillies and mares 4 years old and older going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Belmont Park, the Beaugay Stakes was first run in 1978 on the dirt before switching to turf in 1983. Allen Jerkens leads all trainers with four wins while Jerry Bailey leads all jockeys in wins with five. Summer Secretary, who is the only horse to win the race twice, also ran the fastest edition of the race when stopping the clock in 1:40.16 in 1991. Other winners of the race include Caress (1995), Christmas Gift (1996), Voodoo Dancer (2002), Delta Princess (2003) and Winter Memories (2012).
