Neecie Marie went from humble beginnings as a maiden claimer and has become a graded stakes winner. She won her maiden race in her second career start in a six-furlong dirt race versus maiden claimers at Parx on May 8, 2023. She then switched to the turf and won two more times in 2023 including a victory in the $100,000 Mrs. Penny Stakes at Parx on Aug. 21. She also added back-to-back graded stakes runner-up finishes later in 2023, in the Grade 3 Jockey Club Oaks Invitational and in the Grade 2 Sands Point Stakes, both at Belmont at the Big A.

Sent off as the 7.90-1 fourth choice on the tote board in a five-horse field, Neecie Marie rallied from last to get up in time to win by a neck for her first career graded stakes victory.
