History

Run at seven furlongs on the dirt for horses three years and older, the Triple Bend Stakes is one of the premier sprint races in California. Rich Cream set a world record in 1980 when he stopped the clock in a time of 1:19.40 for the seven furlongs and Porterhouse won the race twice, in 1955 and 1956. In recent race history, Bob Baffert has won it four times with jockey Chris McCarron winning it six times since 1980.
