Masochistic broke his maiden impressively in his second start and continued to win, stretching his win streak to three races. After a second-place finish in his stakes debut, the gelding won an allowance and captured the Grade 2 Kona Gold Stakes. His first Grade 1 win came in Santa Anita's Triple Bend Stakes in June 2015. Masochistic then finished second in the Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes.
In his final prep race for the 2015 TwinSpires.com Breeders' Cup Sprint, Masochistic pressed a sizzling early pace in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Sprint Championship Stakes and faded to fourth.
