Named after one of the most influential sires in history the Northern Dancer Turf is open to horses 3 and older at 12 furlongs (1 ½ miles) at Woodbine. Two time winners of the race since 2000 include Wigmore Hall (2011/2012), Sky Conqueror (2006/2007) and Strut the Stage (2003/2004). The race was first run in 1953 at Fort Erie as the Niagara Handicap and was moved to Woodbine in 1957. The race was renamed to the Northern Dancer in 2006.
