Based in England, Irish-born jockey Jamie Spencer has seen success all over the world. In 1998 Spencer won his first classic race, the Irish 1,000 Guineas, and became the youngest jockey to win a classic. He was the champion apprentice jockey in Ireland in 1999, champion jockey in Ireland and England in 2005, and earned the English title again in 2007.

In North America, Spence has seven Grade 1 victories, winning the Northern Dancer twice with Wigmore Hall, piloting Cape Blanco to three Grade 1s in 2011, and in 2014 winning both the E. P. Taylor Stakes and the Woodbine Mile Stakes in Canada. He has also ridden in 25 Breeders' Cup races, with his best finish being second places in the 2018 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf aboard East, the 2014 Breeders' Cup Classic on Toast of New York, and the 2004 Mile on Antonius Pius.
Jamie Spencer was the retained rider for Qatar Racing for a few seasons but became a freelance rider in 2015.
