Rafael Hernandez, a native of Puerto Rico, started his riding career at Fairmount Park near St. Louis and dominated the jockey standings for several years before moving to Gulfstream Park during the mid-2010s. After being sidelined due to injury, he relocated to Woodbine Racetrack in Canada and became one of the top riders there. Hernandez’s top horses include Shaman Ghost, winner of the 2015 Queen’s Plate, and multiple graded stakes winner Are You Kidding Me.
