Added to Keeneland’s stakes schedule in 1989, the Jenny Wiley Stakes has been run at 1 1/16 miles on the turf course for fillies and mares 4 years old and older since its beginning. The Jenny Wiley is named after a famous pioneer woman. Champion filly Intercontinental is the only horse to win the Jenny Wiley Stakes twice, providing leader owner Juddmonte Farms with two of its three victories in the race. Juddmonte’s main trainers, Bill Mott and the late Bobby Frankel are tied with the most wins at four apiece. Apolda ran the fast edition of the race with a time of 1:40.78 in 1996 and is joined on the winners’ list by Misspitch, Tates Creek, Wend, My Typhoon, Forever Together and Hard Not to Like.
