Longtime racing fans Jack and Laurie Wolf became owners in 2000 when they formed Starlight Stables and purchased six yearlings.
A member of that initial group of Starlight runners was Harlan's Holiday. Purchased for $97,000, the colt developed into a multiple Grade 1 winner with career earnings of $3.3 million. Starlight Stables changed to Starlight Racing in 2002 when Jack and Laurie formed their first racing partnerships.

The Wolfs and partners have campaigned a number of high-profile runners, including the two-time champion filly Ashado, who won six Grade 1 races; champion and undefeated 2-year-old, Shanghai Bobby; and multiple champion, Triple Crown winning superstar, Justify, among many others.
Starlight horses have competed—and continue to compete—at premier meets across the globe, from the exclusive North American meets in Kentucky, New York, Florida, and California, to the richest races in Dubai.
The bulk of the Starlight horses are trained by Todd Pletcher and Bob Baffert but they also employ various other trainers such as Al Stall Jr. and Rodolphe Brisset.
The Wolfs live in Louisville, Ky., and Saratoga Springs, N.Y. but the Starlight Racing partners are spread far and wide: California, Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Florida, New York, etc.
