Runhappy Del Mar Futurity

First run in 1948, the Del Mar Futurity is the premier 2-year-old race at Del Mar racetrack during its summer meet. Run at seven furlongs on dirt, the Del Mar Futurity has been won by four future classic winners since 1995. Bob Baffert leads all trainers with 11 wins in the race including seven in a row from 1996 to 2002. Two consecutive Kentucky Derby winners won the race as a 2-year-old in 2014 and 2015 in American Pharoah and Nyquist.
