The son of Lawyer Ron became trainer Bob Baffert's 10th Del Mar Futurity winner in 16 years on September 7, 201,1 when he prevailed by a neck.
Baffert purchased Drill for $300,000 for the partnership group of Mike Pegram, Karl Watson and Paul Weitman, whose stakes winners include Lookin At Lucky. Drill's success helped raise the value of his dam, Cat Dancer, who was sold for $1.4-million in November 2011 carrying a Tiznow foal.
Drill won the San Vicente Stakes (G2) and Lazaro Barrera Stakes (G3) as a three-year-old on the Triple Crown trail.
