Named for the Dwyer brothers, Mike and Phil, who dominated Thoroughbred racing in the late 19th century, the Dwyer Stakes is a race for 3-year-olds and is contested at one mile (8 furlongs) on Belmont Park’s dirt main track. Winners since 2000 include Albert the Great, Roman Ruler, Any Given Saturday, Moreno and Kid Cruz.
