Out on his own since 1991, Keith Desormeaux won his 500th race on Aug. 21, 2014 with his brother Kent. Later that year the duo won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile with Texas Red. The colt was injured and off the Triple Crown trail, but returned later in 205 to win the Jim Dandy Stakes at Saratoga. Texas Red is currently in training for a 2016 campaign.

In the 2015 Breeders' Cup Juvenile, Desormeaux finished second with Swipe and fourth with Exaggerator, both colts who moved on to the 2016 Triple Crown trail. Exaggerator won the Delta Downs Jackpot to end the season before coming back in 2016 and finishing second and third respectively in two Grade 2s before winning the Santa Anita Derby by 6 1/4 lengths.
Exaggerator went on to finish a determined second in the Kentucky Derby to Nyquist before turning the tables on that rival in the Preakness Stakes to give his trainer his first victory in a U.S. classic race.
