Moreno collected several second-place finishes at Santa Anita before breaking his maiden at Belmont Park.

The gelding by Ghostzapper ran in the Grade 2 Dwyer Stakes less than one month after breaking his maiden to bring home another win at Belmont Park. He followed that up with a third-place finish in the Jim Dandy before going on to the Travers, where he finished second. Moreno added another second-place finish in the Grade 2 Pennsylvania Derby at Parx Racing before a 10th-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Classic while sustaining an injury.

In 2014 the gelding finished third in the Charles Town Classic (G2) and fourth in the Pimlico Special (G3) before a breakthrough victory in the Grade 1, $1.5-million Whitney Stakes on Aug. 2 for trainer Eric Guillot and owner Southern Equine Stable. He then finished a hard-fought second in the Grade 1 Woodward at Saratoga and is being readied for a run in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup at Belmont Park on Oct. 27.
