History

First run in 2004, the Alysheba Stakes is run on Kentucky Oaks day for horses aged 4-years and older going 1 1/16 miles (8.5 furlongs) on the dirt. Named for Hall of Fame runner Alysheba, jockey John Velazquez has won the most Alysheba Stakes of any jockey with three while trainer Todd Pletcher is the only trainer to win the race most than once. The Alysheba has been won by horses such as Congrats, Successful Dan and Take Charge Indy.
