Run at Santa Anita going 1 ¾ miles (14 furlongs), the San Juan Capistrano Stakes is open to horses 3-year-olds and older. The race has a storied history with an equine winners’ list that includes Exceller, John Henry, Rosedale, Dahar and Kotashaan. Trainer Charlie Whittingham has won the race eight times with Kent Desormeaux winning the race four times as a jockey.
