Veteran runner Oscar Dominguez broke through with his first career graded stakes win in his 37th start by taking the Grade 2 Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes at Del Mar on Dec. 1, 2019.
Prior to that, the gelding had won five times in a busy career that began in 2015 as a juvenile. He reached his best form during his 6-year-old season in 2019, finishing second in two
Grade 2 turf stakes over the summer at Santa Anita and Del Mar and then running fourth in another Grade 2 during the fall before winning the Hollywood Turf Cup.
Richard Baltas trains Oscar Dominguez for owners Nancy Messineo and Bruce Sands.
