Nessy, a Flower Alley gelding owned by Sierra Farm and trained by Ian Wilkes, broke his maiden at Churchill Downs in July 2016 and raced well without winning in nine subsequent starts, finishing second twice and third four times. He picked up his second career win back at Churchill during June 2017 and then was elevated to stakes company late in the year and into 2018, finishing second in two Grade 3 events and third in a Grade 2.
Shipped to Santa Anita Park in April, Nessy broke through with his first stakes win in the Grade 3 San Juan Capistrano Stakes.
