In a race televised on FOX, a field of six will square off in the 1 1/8-mile test that will feature both the runner-up in the Longines Kentucky Oaks as well as the beaten favorite in the famed run for the lilies for sophomore fillies.

1. Southlawn (9-2 morning-line odds): She came into the Kentucky Oaks with the momentum of a two-race winning streak, but showed little and finished a well-beaten 10th. Unraced since then, she has been showing some sparks of her past form in workouts and certainly would be a big threat on her best try.

JOCKEY: Florent Geroux; TRAINER: Norm Casse

2. Wet Paint (2-1): The aforementioned beaten favorite in the Kentucky Oaks. She rallied belatedly for fourth that day and then settled for second in the Monomoy Girl Stakes at Ellis Park when Hoosier Philly cruised along on slow fractions. She seems dependent on a solid pace to make a strong run and that may not happen here.

JOCKEY: Flavien Prat; TRAINER: Brad Cox

3. Sacred Wish (10-1): Bounced back from a weak showing in the George E. Mitchell Black-Eyed Susan Stakes with a second last time out, but Sacred Wish will need to take a big step forward here to land in the winner’s circle.

JOCKEY: Manny Franco;  TRAINER: George Weaver

4. Gambling Girl (5-2): Closed fast to finish second in the Kentucky Oaks, missing by a neck. Rarely turns in a weak effort and seems primed for a big race here, even with a questionable pace scenario.

JOCKEY: Irad Ortiz Jr.; TRAINER: Todd Pletcher

5. Hoosier Philly (5-1): When she was unbeaten at 2, there was talk about running her in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve. That cooled when she lost by eight lengths or more in her first two starts at 3. She took a nice step forward with a second in the Black-Eyed Susan and the front-running Monomoy Girl win over Wet Paint. Hoosier Philly could be tough to catch here in a small field loaded with closers.

JOCKEY: Edgar Morales; TRAINER: Tom Amoss

6. She’s Lookin Lucky (10-1): She could have a big say in the outcome as she’s the only other starter with enough speed to run with Hoosier Philly in the early stages. While she takes a big step up in class and faces a tough task in terms of winning, the chances of the other four fillies could hinge on the kind fractions that she helps to carve out.

JOCKEY: Kendrick Carmouche; TRAINER: Matt Shirer

THE PICK: Gambling Girl

VALUE PLAY: Hoosier Philly

SUPERFECTA: 4-5-2-1
