Southlawn

Southlawn won her maiden race in her second career outing as a 2-year-old in a one-mile dirt race at Ellis Park on July 31, 2022. She made three more starts in 2022, but was unsuccessful in those races which included a graded stakes race and two races on the turf.

Southlawn began her 3-year-old campaign with a victory in an allowance optional claiming race at Fair Grounds on Feb. 18, 2023, when she blew out the field by eight lengths at the distance of 1 1/16 miles back on the main track. That winning outing set her up for her next start, which came in the Grade 2 $400,000 Fair Grounds Oaks on March 25. Sent off as the 7-1 fourth choice on the tote board in a five-horse field in the Fair Grounds Oaks, Southlawn made an impressive last-to-first move and blew away the field by 3 1/4 lengths to post a winning time of 1:44.38 for the 1 1/16 miles.

Southlawn is trained by Norm Casse. She was bred in Kentucky by the sire Pioneerof the Nile out of the mare Mo D'Amour by Uncle Mo.
