First run in 1931, the Acorn Stakes is one of the biggest 3-year-old filly races in the United Stakes. The race is run at a mile (eight furlongs) on dirt at Belmont Park and was the first leg of the U.S. Triple Tiara when the series existed.

Eddie Arcaro has the most wins of all jockeys with five while owner Calumet Farm has the most wins of all owners with six. Trainer “Sunny Jim” Fitzsimmons leads all trainers with six race wins from 1933 to 1960.
