First run in 1946, the Summertime Oaks is a race for 3-year-old fillies going 1 1/16 miles (8 ½ furlongs) at Santa Anita on the dirt. Formerly run as the Hollywood Oaks, House of Fortune won the race in a time of 1:41.55 in 2004, the fastest time at the current distance. From 2007 to 2013, the race was run on the all weather surface before Santa Anita switched back to dirt in 2014.
Since 1985, horses such as Fran’s Valentine, Hidden Light, Gorgeous, Hollywood Wildcat, Lakeway, Adoration, Hystericalady, Tough Tiz’s Sis, Switch, Zazu and Stellar Wind have won the race.
