Fanticola, Anthony and Scardino, Joseph

Anthony Fanticola and Joseph Scardino have been racing together for more than 15 years and campaigned multiple Grade 2 winner Attima together but by far their biggest stakes winner is Obviously, who has won nine graded stakes victories for the pair, inclduing the 2016 Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint.

Anthony Fanticola has been involved in horses racing for more than 25 years with his brother-in-law Joe Trovato, who was the trainer of champion Chris Evert, taking him to the track. With Scardino, Fanticola usually races two to three horses each year. Outside of horse racing, Fanticola is the owner of 105 Jiffy Lube franchises in California and across New England.

Joseph Scardino celebrated his 81st birthday in the winner's circle when Obviously won the 2013 American Handicap, a fitting present since he has been in racing for more than 45 years. Scardino started out by owning Quarter Horses before moving over to Thoroughbred ownership in the 1980s. One of his bigr horses was Silver Circus, who won the Del Mar and Hollywood Derbies in 1988 with his horse Bruho winning the Bing Crosby and Pat O'Brien handicaps in 1991.
