There’s just something special about Del Mar, and if the first two editions of the Breeders’ Cup held at the seaside track offer any indication, the 2024 World Championships should be a magical event.

Fourteen championship races make the Breeders’ Cup a can’t-miss event year in and year out, but the allure of perfect San Diego-area weather, fantastic food, and the opportunity for a refreshing swim in the Pacific Ocean significantly elevate Del Mar as a host track.

The Road to the 2024 Breeders’ Cup picks back up this weekend with a total of six “Win and You’re In” preps scheduled at Santa Anita Park and Belmont and the Big A (Aqueduct).

Nestled up on “The Hill” at Keeneland Race Course in Lexington, Ky., is a haven of horse racing history, a small stone structure that contains literal multitudes. Inside are photographs, books, magazines, and more, each sharing a line from the story of a sport. This is the Keeneland Library.

High-level Thoroughbred racing continues at tracks across North America this week, with special focus on a huge card Saturday, Sept. 21 at Parx Racing in Bensalem, Pa., highlighted by the Pennsylvania Derby and Cotillion Stakes.

The road to the 2024 Breeders’ Cup World Championships is in full swing as we head into mid-September, and the focus this upcoming weekend is on Woodbine as the Toronto-area track hosts three “Win and You’re In” qualifying races Saturday, Sept. 14.
