After a week-plus of significant winter weather and Arctic temperatures across most of the eastern half of the U.S. led to several racetracks closing and postponing stakes, the upcoming week promises to be a return to normalcy for most venues, and with a boost in major races on the calendar.

On Friday, Feb. 6, both the Southwest Stakes at Oaklawn Park and the Withers Stakes at Aqueduct will be held as part of rescheduled racecards (both were originally set for Jan. 31). They are both qualifying points preps for the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve, each offering 42 points to the top five finishers distributed on a 20-10-6-4-2 scale.

The Southwest and the Withers will be shown live on NYRA’s “America’s Day at the Races” show airing on FOX Sports. “America’s Day at the Races” showcases action from Aqueduct and Oaklawn Park and also broadcasts races from Tampa Bay Downs and Turf Paradise. It runs this week from Thursday, Feb. 5, through Sunday, Feb. 8 – check the below schedule for channels and times.

There are two more Kentucky Derby preps each offering 42 points scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7: the Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs and the Robert B. Lewis Stakes at Santa Anita Park. The Sam F. Davis will be broadcast on “America’s Day at the Races,” while the Robert B. Lewis will air on FanDuel TV as part of that network’s comprehensive coverage of Santa Anita. FanDuel TV will also show live racing from numerous other tracks including Gulfstream Park, Laurel Park, and Turfway Park.

Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers on Racetrack Television Network (RTN), which can be livestreamed on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Rok
