Stay Lucky offers participants the opportunity to win great prizes by stringing together winners in Thoroughbred races. Unbroken streaks of five, seven, nine, 14, 17 and 20 reward the players with a prize or choice of prizes. Terms and conditions apply.

The object is simple: pick winners from North American graded stakes races that draw at least six entrants. Races will be scored in real time but streaks will be updated only once daily to make sure they are scored in the correct order.

Pick as many races each weekend as you like, but be sure to play at least one race every weekend or your streak will be reset.

Thank you for your patience while we paused the Stay Lucky season due to the coronavirus pandemic. We did not want to confuse players with an inconsistent schedule of a couple of Stay Lucky contest races every few weeks and extended stretches with none, but now that most major racetracks are back up and racing we feel comfortable restarting the 2020 season.

This weekend’s small Stay Lucky slate features a pair of turf races: the $100,000, Grade 3 Louisville Stakes on June 13 at Churchill Downs, a 1 1/2-mile turf races for older horses; and the $250,000, Grade 3 San Francisco Mile, a one-mile turf race at Golden Gate Fields for 3-year-olds and older.

Saturday, June 13

Louisville Stakes (6:22 p.m. ET): This competitive field of 12 does not look like an ideal spot to try to extend a Stay Lucky streak as it’s a pretty wide-open race. That said, with few options on the schedule you might need to take a shot here. A compelling argument could be made for Grade 1 winner Arklow (#5) and I think Admission Office (#12) is a serious player, but I think the race shapes up perfectly for Tiz a Slam (#6) to set an uncontested pace and steal this one on the front end. Based on a very quick recent workout, it sure seems like that will be the gameplan.

Sunday, June 14

San Francisco Mile Stakes (6:45 p.m. ET): Neptune’s Storm (#7) is a Grade 2 winner who last year finished second by three-quarters of a length in a Grade 1. He disappointed in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile in his season debut May 25 but gets some class relief here and should get the job done.
