2026 Kentucky Derby Trail: Three Heating Up, Three Cooling Down for Feb. 10
2026 Rachel Alexandra Stakes at a Glance
Racing
Eight 3-year-old fillies were entered in the Fasig-Tipton Rachel Alexandra Stakes and their connections are hoping history repeats itself as last year’s winner, Good Cheer, went on to capture the Longines Kentucky Oaks. The Rachel Alexandra Feb. 14 at Fair Grounds could also lock up a spot in the Kentucky Oaks for Saturday’s winner as it initiates the 50-25-15-10-5 points qualifying stakes.
1. Just Singing: Rallied for third in the Golden Rod Stakes despite a wide trip. May be helped by a longer stretch here and a switch to Hall of Famer Johnny V.
JOCKEY: John Velazquez; TRAINER: Kent Sweezey
2. Classic Glide: Makes her 3-year-old debut off a second in a starter allowance race. Seems like a lot to ask of her in this spot.
JOCKEY: Brian J. Hernandez Jr.; TRAINER: Robbie Medina
3. Bella Ballerina: Won the Golden Rod with a sharp effort after chasing a loose leader in second. Workouts have been quick and she seems ready for a strong showing.
JOCKEY: Tyler Gaffalione; TRAINER: Brandan Walsh
4. Dancin in Old Town: Seems to be getting better with each start. Trailed in the Fasig-Tipton Silverbulletday Stakes and finished fifth, but was only two lengths behind. Would be helped by a fast pace.
JOCKEY: James Graham; TRAINER: Keith Desormeaux
5. Powered by Family: Turned in an impressive win on this track in her second start. The time was fast but it was on a muddy main track in an off-the-turf race. Will get tested for class here.
JOCKEY: Jose Ortiz; TRAINER: Cherie DeVaux
6. Luv Your Neighbor: Was a game second in the Silverbulletday Stakes in a nice time. Unfortunately, she has been second in her last three starts and seems destined for the bottom of the exacta again.
JOCKEY: Luis Saez; TRAINER: Michael Stidham
7. Majestical: Took a nice step forward when she drew clear to win a maiden race here by 4 ½ lengths. Continued improvement will make her a factor in this field.
JOCKEY: Ben Curtis; TRAINER: Peter Eurton
8. Agrippina: Won an Oaklawn Park maiden race in mid-December but that was at six furlongs in average time. Others are more appealing.
JOCKEY: Paco Lopez; TRAINER: Lindsay Schultz
THE PICK: Bella Ballerina
LIVE LONGSHOT: Dancin in Old Town
SUPERFECTA: 3-6-4-1
