This year’s Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve and Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets winner Sovereignty did not disappoint in his first start since the final leg of the Triple Crown. Sovereignty won the Grade 2 Jim Dandy Stakes presented by Mohegan Sun at Saratoga Race Course as the 1-2 favorite by a length over a very game Baeza, who was 9 ¼ lengths clear of third-place finisher Hill Road.

Godolphin homebred Sovereignty surpassed $5 million in 2025 earnings following his fourth graded stakes win this year and remains on top of the overall standings by purse earnings. Guided by Junior Alvarado, Sovereignty earned the highest Equibase Speed Figure of any horse across North America last week, posting a career-best 113 for his win in the Jim Dandy.

Lovesick Blues pulled off a major upset in Saturday’s Grade 1 Bing Crosby Stakes at Del Mar, earning his first graded stakes victory at odds of 18.60-1. The 7-year-old California-bred gelding, trained by Librado Barocio and ridden by Geovanni Franco, jumped into the top 100 on the leaderboard, currently sitting 90th with $338,000 in 2025 earnings.

In his third start following a 15-month layoff, Nysos owered home to a 2 ¾-length win the Grade 2 San Diego Handicap at Del Mar on Saturday for Bob Baffert and Flavien Prat, who are now winning at a tremendous 73% in when paired in graded stakes races at Del Mar in the past three years. Following a runner-up finish in a Grade 1 race at Churchill Downs in his May return, Nysos has won two consecutive graded stakes races and has cracked the top 100 in the standings, moving into 71st with $381,900 in 2025 earnings.
