Following another successful week with four wins and $389,642 in earnings, Chad Brown remains on top of the 2024 Equibase standings in the trainer division with earnings of $29,873,82, more than $4 million ahead of Steve Asmussen in second. Brad Cox continued his success last week as well, winning at a 28% clip with five wins and $459,807 in earnings. Cox trails Asmussen by just $337,943.

Another standout week came from the Shug McGaughey barn – of the seven graded stakes held across North America, horses trained by McGaughey won or placed second in three of them. The Hall of Famer finished first and second in the Grade 2 Red Smith Stakes at Aqueduct with Integration and Limited Liability, won the Grade 3 River City Stakes at Churchill Downs with Battle of Normandy, and finished second in the Grade 3 Hill Prince Stakes at Aqueduct with Cugino.

Notable performances came from Deterministic who earned his third graded stakes victory of 2024 in the Hill Prince Stakes Saturday for trainer Christophe Clement. The 3-year-old Liam’s Map colt won by a length and earned a career-best 113 Equibase Speed Figure under a great ride by Joel Rosario. Deterministic has cracked the top 100 in the Equibase standings for racehorses and is now 56th following his victory.

Another impressive performance came from Integration, who surged late in a perfectly timed ride by Flavien Prat to win the Red Smith as noted for Shug McGaughey. Integration ended the year on a strong note and is now ranked 83rd in the 2024 standings with $668,300 in earnings.

There were no significant changes among the leaders in the jockey standings this past week, as Flavien Prat continues to sit comfortably in the number one spot with nearly $4 million more than Irad Ortiz Jr. in second. Prat leads the standings by total earnings with $34,529,268, and he leads in the graded stakes category by wins (51) and earnings ($21,901,385).
