The 38th running of the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic will be held Nov. 6 at Del Mar, and the $6 million race serves as the anchor of a powerful two-day, 14-race slate of World Championships races. This year’s Classic drew a strong group of older racehorses, including last year’s Big Ass Fans Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile winner Knicks Go as well as Max Player and Art Collector. Other leading Classic contenders include multiple standout 3-year-olds in Belmont Stakes Presented by NYRA Bets and the Runhappy Travers Stakes winner Essential QualityKentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve first-place finisher Medina Spirit, and Pennsylvania Derby winner Hot Rod Charlie.

America’s Best Racing has put together a comprehensive slideshow of the horses expected to compete in this year’s Classic to give racing fans a feel for each of the contenders. For most of the horses that are pre-entered, we were able to find a nice close-up image, a workout photo, and a racing photo to bring readers closer to the Classic runners.
