all in Breeders' Cup

For the seventh year in a row, America’s Best Racing is challenging some of the brightest minds in horse betting to come up with their top three picks for key races every weekend leading up to the 2023 Triple Crown and then continuing through the 2023 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The handicappers face off in what we like to call the “Big Race Showdown.”

The Breeders’ Cup World Championships offers a cornucopia of betting opportunities to the horse racing fan, and a huge part of the allure of the two-day event Nov. 3-4 at Santa Anita Park is trying to uncover a longshot.

The Breeders’ Cup World Championships is the ultimate handicapping puzzle for horseplayers, and it’s especially appealing to those who adhere to the maxim of “bet a little to win a lot.”

The 14-race slate of Breeders’ Cup races brings together great horses from all regions in the U.S. as well as from overseas, which means that year after year, top-class runners with full résumés go off at odds far higher than they would in any other setting.

In every Breeders’ Cup World Championships, there are one or two races with what appears, on paper, to be a “mortal lock” favorite. Even in races that usually draw the most competitive fields in any calendar year, there’s usually a standout somewhere – a horse that, based on his or her accomplishments, towers over the competition.

Football players dream of winning the Super Bowl. Major leaguers all hope to play in the World Series. And in horse racing, few prizes are more highly coveted by jockeys than a victory in the $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic. The race will be run this year as the cornerstone race of the two-day Breeders’ Cup World Championships on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.
