For the seventh year in a row, America’s Best Racing is challenging some of the brightest minds in horse betting to come up with their top three picks for key races every weekend leading up to the 2023 Triple Crown and then continuing through the 2023 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. The handicappers face off in what we like to call the “Big Race Showdown.”

Saturday, Nov. 4: 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on FS2; 1:30-3:30 p.m. on on USA Network; 3:30-7 p.m. on NBC; post time varies on FanDuel TV

Sunday, Nov. 5: 12-3:30 p.m. on FS2; 3:30-4:30 p.m. on FS1; post time varies on FanDuel TV

The players’ picks will be posted here and a running bankroll will be kept to track their success all year long. Bankrolls will be tabulated on the basis of $2 exacta and $2 trifecta box bets of each player’s top three selections. We will also be keeping track of which playercorrectly selects the most winners.

Your players for the 2023 Big Race Showdown season are Edison Hatter (In the Money Media Analyst, Meadowlands On-Air Host), Ashley Mailloux (freelance racing analyst), Jessica Paquette (Racecaller for Parx Racing, Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation), John Piassek (Communications Manager, Maryland Horse Breeders Association),  Roberto Rodriguez (El Potro Roberto, DRF en Espanol), Mike Somich (The Magic Mike Show, Somo Bombs Handicapper – The Racing Dudes), Naomi Tukker (Eclipse Award-winning Sports Broadcaster, World Horse Racing Producer),  Darwin Vizcaya (Handicapper and Host, La Trifecta from America’s Best Racing), Rowan Ward (Chartcaller at Hawthorne Race Track and a Freelance Writer), and Brian Zipse (Senior Writer for Horse Racing Nation and Host of HorseCenter).

This week’s Big Race Showdown races are: the $2 million FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Presented by Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance on Friday, Nov. 3; the $2 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff on Saturday, Nov. 4; and the $6 million Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic on Saturday, Nov. 4.

NBC Sports will broadcast 12 of the 14 Breeders’ Cup races on live television and stream all of them live on Peacock. On Future Stars Friday, the five World Championship races will air on USA Network during a broadcast from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET.

Coverage of Championship Saturday begins on USA Network from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. ET and then shifts to NBC from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET, with the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic at 6:40 p.m. ET serving as the final race of the telecast. The remaining two races on the Breeders’ Cup Saturday card – the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint and the Qatar Racing Breeders’ Cup Sprint – will be livestreamed on Peacock.
