The post-Breeders’ Cup lull may be settling in, but there was still plenty of meaningful stakes action across North America last week. Graded stakes at Aqueduct and Churchill Downs produced standout performances that sparked some movement on the Equibase leaderboard measuring earnings in North American races for 2025.

Back in January of this year, Disco Time earned 20 points on the road to the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve by mustering a late rally in the Grade 3 Lecomte Stakes at Fair Grounds. However, the Not This Time colt had a setback that caused him to miss the Derby. About eight months later, Disco Time returned to the track in September to dominate the St. Louis Derby at Fairmount Park, winning by 5 ½ lengths in his first start off the long layoff. He then took a slight reset and came back to romp by 9 ¾ lengths in Saturday’s Dwyer Stakes at Aqueduct for trainer Brad Cox. The Juddmonte homebred is a perfect 5-for-5 in his career and with his third win of the year in the Dwyer, Disco Time rocketed up the Equibase standings to rank 39th in the 3-year-old male division with $410,000 in earnings. He earned a career-best 112 Equibase Speed Figure for his win in the Dwyer.

The Grade 2 Mother Goose Stakes at Aqueduct headlined the weekend’s activity, drawing a strong group of 3-year-old fillies including Longines Kentucky Oaks runner-up Drexel Hill. But it was Fully Subscribed who delivered a commanding performance, drawing off to win by 4 ½ lengths under Dylan Davis. Fully Subscribed earned her first win of the season after finishing second and third in allowance company earlier this year, and the performance vaulted her into the top 100 in her division – she’s now ranked 79th among 3-year-old fillies with $195,800 in 2025 earnings.

In Kentucky, the Grade 3 River City Stakes at Churchill Downs highlighted the weekend. Wolfie’s Dynaghost, a 7-year-old gelding by Ghostzapper, continues to be a war horse and find the winner’s circle. The Woodslane Farm homebred earned a career-best 114 Equibase Speed Figure on Saturday, winning the River City by 2 ¾ lengths. He completed 1 1/8 miles on the turf in 1:45.58, just 0.07 seconds off the track record, for trainer Brian Lynch with Luis Saez aboard. Wolfie’s Dynaghost is now 70th in the older male division with $337,458 in earnings.

There were no changes among the top 10 jockeys in North America with Flavien Prat continuing to hold firm atop the leaderboard now with $36,252,539 in earnings. Prat had 10 wins last week (37%), all at Aqueduct, and accumulated $568,510 in earnings. Jose Ortiz topped all jockeys by earnings last week with $761,783 and tied Prat with the most wins with 10.

There were also no changes in the top 10 trainers. Brad Cox led all trainers in North America last week both by wins (eight) and earnings ($538,008) and continues to sit atop the leaderboard. He is well ahead in the standings with $26,731,407 in 2025 earnings, nearly $4.2 million more than Chad Brown in second.

North American leaders lists for horses, jockeys, trainers and owners are available on equibase.com and you can filter the data to view by a wide variety of categories including age, sex, surface and race type.
