It’s Valentine’s Day and love is the air. The roses, the candy and cashing that winning wager at the racetrack. We all love to cash a winning bet and there are plenty of racehorses with names that fit with Feb. 14. Here are a few of them.

Cupid: This Bob Baffert trainee won three graded stakes last year and is working toward a 2017 campaign. He posted a workout at Santa Anita on Feb. 10. He’s a gray – I love grays.

Badasmywifeletsmeb: Keep an eye on this guy because he can pop up with a win at a big price. He won three starts ago at odds of 18-1. I can relate to this guy’s name, I’m only as bad as my wife lets me be.

Valentine Street: This colt broke his maiden this past November and then finished third on Feb. 6 in an allowance at Sam Houston Race Park.

Wife Approved: This filly’s name is a reminder to make sure that the restaurant I have a reservation for is approved by my wife. This filly has won two of her seven career starts. I didn’t bet her in either of those races but I’m not going to let her beat me next time she runs.

Chocolate Smoothie: I know chocolates are a popular gift for Valentine’s Day but I’ve never had a chocolate smoothie. This filly just broke her maiden a few days ago at Aqueduct at odds of 3-1 and now I feel like I should try a chocolate smoothie.

Teddy the Bear: A teddy bear is another popular choice among gifts on this day and Teddy the Bear has been making horseplayers happy at the windows. He’s won two of his last three starts including his most recent race on Jan. 30 at Turf Paradise.

Heart to Heart: This millionaire is named for the heart-shaped marking on his face, and on Valentine’s Day many will be having the deep conversations his name is inspired by. He finished fourth most recently but there’s no reason he won’t bounce back next race.

Girls Know Best: I can’t argue with the name at all. My wife and daughter rule the house so I have to agree that girls know best on this Valentine’s Day. This filly has won two of her five starts and I think she’s going to hit the winner’s circle before the season ends at Oaklawn Park.

Wine At Nine: I don’t know about you, but I don’t think you have to wait until nine on Valentine’s Day to get some wine. I will tell you that this gelding finished his 2016 season at Emerald Downs with a win and a second so I would keep an eye out for him as the 2017 Emerald Downs season approaches.

Roses for Sharon: I want to find out who Sharon is and if she ever got her roses. As for this filly, it looks like she has a good future ahead of her given that she debuted against stakes company and finished a good second at Mahoning Valley Race Course.

Hunch bets of the day this Valentine’s Day:

Roses R Perfect at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Race 1 at odds of 20-1

True Sweetheart at Parx in Race 7 at odds of 5-1

Luvinmeiseasy at Sam Houston Race Park in Race 8 at odds of 3-1

Better Than Love at Sunland Park in Race 2 at odds of 5-2
