Think Big When Betting the 2025 Fourstardave Stakes
The upcoming seven days in the Thoroughbred industry mark one of the high points on the annual calendar, with most of the top-of-the-marquee activity occurring in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. On Saturday, Aug. 2, two Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” qualifiers will be held at historic Saratoga Race Course, the Whitney Stakes (Longines Classic) and the FanDuel Fourstardave Stakes (FanDuel Mile Presented by PDJF).
The day before, Friday, Aug. 1, one special contemporary racehorse (Smarty Jones) headlines a stellar list of inductees to the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame located just a few steps north of the racetrack. The day before that, Thursday, Aug. 31, industry leaders will convene at the Hall of Springs at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center to discuss current issues in horse racing at The Jockey Round Table Conference.
Then, next Monday, Aug. 4, and Tuesday, Aug. 5, the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale of Selected Yearlings will be held at Fasig-Tipton’s auction house in Saratoga Springs, also mere blocks away from the racetrack – and this year, America’s Best Racing will be on site for comprehensive coverage of the premier yearling sale.
Both the Whitney Stakes and the Fourstardave Stakes will be broadcast nationwide on FOX during a three-hour “Saratoga Saturday” show. NYRA’s “Saratoga Live” will telecast racing from the Spa from Wednesday, July 30, through Sunday, Aug. 3, on FOX Sports channels, and a special broadcast of the Qatar Sussex Stakes from Goodwood Racecourse in England (a Breeders’ Cup qualifier for the Maker’s Mark Filly & Mare Turf) and the HKJC World Pool Molecomb Stakes (Juvenile Turf Sprint) will air Wednesday morning on FS2.
Del Mar will host a Breeders’ Cup prep Saturday as well – the Clement Hirsch Stakes Presented by Oak Tree Racing Association (Longines Distaff). Every race from Del Mar will be broadcast on FanDuel Racing along with action from tracks including Ellis Park, Woodbine, and Gulfstream Park.
Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers on Racetrack Television Network (RTN), which can be livestreamed on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Roku.
The Jockey Club Round Table Conference on Matters Pertaining to Racing, which begins at 10 a.m. ET Thursday, will be livestreamed on The Jockey Club’s website, with guests including NBC’s Steve Kornacki and new chairman of The Jockey Club Everett Dobson.
The 2025 National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame induction ceremony (held at Fasig-Tipton and free to attend) will be livestreamed on the Hall of Fame’s website, starting at 10:30 a.m. ET Friday, with retired track announcer Tom Durkin serving as the master of ceremonies.
America’s Best Racing is setting up at Saratoga this week and into the next for three can’t-miss livestreams showcasing the best the sport has to offer in both racing and breeding/sales. First, ABR presents “Whitney Day LIVE!” Saturday from the track, hosted by our Dan Tordjman and Alexa Zepp and featuring many special guests. “Whitney Day LIVE!” has a start time of 4 p.m. ET and will stream on ABR’s Facebook, X, and YouTube channels.
And then, on Monday and Tuesday, ABR will be on-site at Fasig-Tipton for comprehensive coverage of the selected yearling sale, which features some of the best-bred youngsters from established stallions such as Into Mischief and Gun Runner and also the first yearlings at auction from sensational 2022 Horse of the Year Flightline. ABR’s “Live from the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale!” show will air starting at 6 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday. It’s hosted by Dan Tordjman, Rachel Miller, and Ren Carothers, with roving reporting from Alexa Zepp and appearances from special guests. “Live from the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale!” streams on ABR’s Facebook, X, and YouTube channels.
