The Claim-to-Fame Journey of Lava Man
The summer racing season rolls along this upcoming week with more marquee races at various tracks around the country. There’s only one domestic Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” qualifying race on tap, but it’s an important one, and fans will also be directing attention and wagering dollars to what may be the final edition of one of the most popular annual racing events in North America.
Saratoga Race Course showcases the Fourstardave Handicap, a Breeders’ Cup Challenge Series qualifier for the FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile, on Saturday, Aug. 14. The Fourstardave will be shown on NYRA's “Saratoga Live.” The show, produced on-site at the Spa, airs on either FS2 or FS1 during the week ahead from Wednesday to Sunday – check the below schedule for air times.
Also on Saturday, Arlington International Racecourse will hold a premier turf card featuring four graded stakes that has been downscaled for 2021 as the track's owners consider offers to buy and redevelop the property. Prestigious events such as the Arlington Million and the Secretariat Stakes have been renamed for what may be the last seasonal meet ever at the picturesque racecourse northwest of Chicago, and purses have been reduced for the four stakes races across the board. Still, the card is expected to attract high-level grass runners and betting support, and all races from Arlington will be shown on TVG as part of their comprehensive package.
ABR’s livestream schedule starts this week on Wednesday, Aug. 11 with “Five in Five” at noon ET.
