Stitched

Stitched raced one time as a 2-year-old at the end of 2021 and then broke his maiden in his second career start in his 3-year-old debut in a 7 1/2-furlong maiden claiming turf race at Fair Grounds on Jan. 21, 2022. He then continued to rack-up victories throughout the first half of the 2022 season, first with an allowance optional claiming turf mile win at Fair Grounds on Feb. 28, and then with three straight wins in April, May, and June on the turf at Churchill Downs, Indiana Downs, and at Canterbury Park where he was victorious in that track's signature race in the $150,000 Mystic Derby. He started just one more time for the remainder of his 3-year-old season, which was a fifth-place finish in the Grade 2 Franklin Stamps Stakes on Sept. 10 at Kentucky Downs.

Following a seven-month layoff, Stitched returned to the races to kick-off his 4-year-old campaign with a seventh-place finish in the Grade 3 Shakertown Stakes at Keeneland on April 8, 2023. With two more losses after that, Stitched appeared to have lost a step since the glory days of the first half of 2022, but that was not the case as Stitched proved when he won the biggest race so far in his career when he took the Grade 2 $400,000 Wise Dan Stakes at Ellis Park on July 1 as a 46-1 longshot. Stitched stalked the pace throughout and won a stretch battle over Get Smokin to prevail by a neck in the 1 1/16-mile turf feature for 4-year-olds and upward. 

Stitched is trained by Gregory Foley. He was bred in Kentucky by the sire Mizzen Mast out of the mare Walking Miracle by Into Mischief.
