After unsuccessful forays into graded stakes competition at points during her 3-year-old season in 2022 in races such as the Grade 3 Gazelle at Aqueduct on April 9 (6th), and the Grade 2 Black Eyed Susan at Pimlico on May 20 (6th), and the Grade 3 Delaware Oaks on July 2 (3rd), Morning Matcha turned in her most notable finish to date when she edged out Kentucky Oaks winner Secret Oath for a distant second behind Society in the Grade 1 $1 million Cotillion Stakes at Parx on Sept. 24.
