The 40th edition of the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic will be held Nov. 4 at Santa Anita Park, and the $6 million race serves as the marquee race during an action-packed, 14-race slate of World Championships races over two days. This year's field is led by a solid group of 3-year-olds that includes FanDuel Racing Pacific Classic Stakes winner Arabian Knight and Pennsylvania Derby winner Saudi Crown. Other top hopefuls include Japan’s Ushba Tesoro, winner of the Dubai World Cup in March, and Whitney Stakes winner White Abarrio.

America’s Best Racing has put together a comprehensive slideshow of the horses expected to compete in this year’s Classic to give racing fans a feel for each of the contenders. For most of the horses on target for the race, we were able to find at least one nice close-up image, workout photo, and racing photo to bring readers closer to the Breeders’ Cup Classic runners. This slideshow will be updated once pre-entries for the race become available.
