The 39th running of the Longines Breeders’ Cup Distaff will be held Nov. 5 at Keeneland Race Course, and the $2 million race serves as the marquee race for female racehorses during a powerful two-day, 14-race slate of World Championships races. This year’s Distaff drew a strong group of older females, led by Juddmonte Spinster Stakes winner Malathaat, and talented 3-year-olds led by Beldame Stakes winner Nest.
America’s Best Racing has put together a comprehensive slideshow of the fillies and mares expected to compete in this year’s Distaff to give racing fans a feel for each of the contenders. For most of the horses on target for the race, we were able to find at least one nice close-up image, workout photo, and racing photo to bring readers closer to the Distaff runners.
