Canada-based Thoroughbred trainer Kevin Attard reflects upon winning the 2024 Maker’s Mark Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf with 2023 Canadian Horse of the Year Moira and provided some insight into his 2025 FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Mile hopeful, Gas Me Up.
The improving 5-year-old Hard Spun gelding won a Grade 2 race in August and finished third in the $1 million Rogers Woodbine Mile Stakes on Sept. 13 in his most recent start. Attard is exited to represent Canada and Woodbine at the World Championships and believes Gas Me Up has a chance to surprise some people.
