Blacksmith made his first career start in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden race for 2-year-olds on Oct. 25, 2025, at Santa Anita and finished second. He followed that up with a fifth-place finish in his second start in another 6 1/2-furlong maiden race at Del Mar on Nov. 22.
Blacksmith made his first career start in a 6 1/2-furlong maiden race for 2-year-olds on Oct. 25, 2025, at Santa Anita and finished second. He followed that up with a fifth-place finish in his second start in another 6 1/2-furlong maiden race at Del Mar on Nov. 22.
Blacksmith was stretched out for his third outing and moved up against stakes company in the Grade 2 $200,000 Los Alamitos Futurity on Dec. 13 and finished second in a six-horse field, beaten 1 1/4 lengths by Litmus Test. The Los Alamitos Futurity was a points race on the road to the 2025 Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve, and with his second-place finish Blacksmith earned five qualifying points.
