Dapper Moon finished second in his first career race July 20, 2024, at Saratoga Race Course but reached the winner’s circle in his second tray, also at the Spa, Aug. 31. He stalked the pace from third in a seven-furlong maiden special weight race and pulled away in the stretch to a five-length romp.

Trainer Dallas Stewart tested the Malibu Moon colt next against stakes competition and he finished fourth in both the Grade 1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity Oct. 5 at Keeneland and the Grade 3 Street Sense Stakes Oct. 27 at Churchill Downs. Dapper Moon finished his 2024 season with a fourth-place finish in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes on Nov. 30 at Churchill Downs.
Dapper Moon was produced by the winning Old Fashioned mare Fashioned Gem, a half-sister (same dam, different sire) to graded stakes winner Meadow Gem.
