Fort Washington

Fort Washington shared the win in the dead heat in the Grade 3 $150,000 Monmouth Stakes going 1 1/8 miles on the turf at Monmouth Park on June 15, 2024. The win at 35-1 odds on the tote board in a 10-horse field was the fourth career victory for Fort Washington and the second career stakes win (first Graded Stakes win).

Fort Washington added a second graded stakes win, this time not in a dead heat but in a near dead heat, when getting the best of a four-horse blanket finish to win the Grade 3 $150,000 Canadian Turf Stakes going 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Gulfstream Park on March 1, 2025. In the Canadian Turf, Fort Washington topped a seven-horse field by a slimmest of margins as the top four finishers all finished within a neck. 

Fort Washington continued his very promising start to the 2025 season with another win in his next out in the Grade 3 $250,000 Dinner Party Stakes at Pimlico on the May 17 Preakness Stakes undercard. Fort Washington got the best of the 10-horse field going 1 1/8 miles on a turf course rated good. Sent off as the 5-1 third betting choice in the Dinner Party, Fort Washington stalked the pace in mid-pack behind a slow pace and made a big move into contention turning for home. He extended to a two-length lead in the stretch and held on to win by a length under jockey Junior Alvarado in a final time of 1:54.20. 

The next win for Fort Washington came in an even bigger spot when he scored the most significant victory so far in his career in the Grade 1 Arlington Million Stakes going 1 1/4 miles on the turf at Colonial Downs on Aug. 9. Fort Washington raced last in a seven-horse field for much of the race in the Arlington Million under a patient ride from Junior Alvarado. He began his move on the turn and swung six wide into the stretch and closed with a last-to-first rally to win by a half a length in a time of 1:59.58 over firm turf.

Fort Washington returned to Maryland to defend his title in the Dinner Party Stakes but had to change racetracks from 2025 when the race was held at Pimlico. In 2026 he instead visited Laurel Park for the running of the Grade 3 $250,000 Dinner Party Stakes going 1 1/8 miles on the turf. The track was different, but the result was the same. Fort Washington topped a five-horse field to win by three-quarters of a length for this second straight win in the race.
