Stay Lucky offers participants the opportunity to win great prizes by stringing together winners in Thoroughbred races. Unbroken streaks of five, seven, nine, 14, 17 and 20 reward the players with a prize or choice of prizes. Terms and conditions apply.

The object is simple: pick winners from North American graded stakes races that draw at least seven entrants. Races will be scored in real time but streaks will be updated only once daily to make sure they are scored in the correct order.

Pick as many races each weekend as you like, but be sure to play at least one race every weekend or your streak will be reset.

This weekend’s Stay Lucky slate is limited to just a handful of races with just two weeks before the 2020 Breeders’ Cup World Championships Nov. 6-7 at Keeneland Race Course.

Saturday, Oct. 24

Senator Ken Maddy Stakes (7:37 p.m. ET): Magic at Midnight (#5) is the 9-5 favorite on the morning line and is unbeaten in four starts; however, only one of her races came on the grass and this will be by far the toughest competition she has faced. She’s also been loose on the lead in each of her races, and there are a few in here who should at least keep her honest. I’m going to try to beat the top two on the morning line with 6-1 An Eddie Surprise (#3). She is 2-for-4 with a second at this distance and loves the turf course at Santa Anita.

Sunday, Oct. 25

Athenia Stakes (4:55 p.m. ET): This looks like a balanced field on paper, but upon closer inspection I do think there is a chance we see a special race from She’s Got You (#7) in her third start in the U.S. She’s closed very well in her two starts in the states. Her third-place finish by a head two races back is even better than it looks as she covered her final quarter-mile in a blistering 22.16 seconds according to Trakus data.

Goldikova Stakes (7:30 p.m. ET): Raymundos Secret (#3) is 4-for-5 at this distance with a win on the turf course at Santa Anita, but I think there are two or three others in this race with a chance to beat her. European shipper Silberpfeil (#6) is really interesting in her U.S. debut; she’s finished in the top three in 12 of her 18 starts in Europe. Maxim Rate (#2) is a talented filly and I’m also interested to see how Hang a Star (#1) handles the switch from dirt to turf for a trainer who is very profitable with that move.
