In a scenario that even Hollywood movie producers might turn down because it seems so implausible, Summers earned his first career victory at the 2017 Dubai World Cup when Mind Your Biscuits won the $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen sponsored by Gulf News by three lengths. Prior to that race, he had two runner-up finishes from four previous starters.

Summers was the co-owner of Mind Your Biscuits in a partnership that also included his father and brother after taking over as trainer of the 2016 Malibu Stakes winner for his 4-year-old season in 2017. He finished second in the Grade 3 Gulfstream Park Sprint in his first start under Summers and then won the Golden Shaheen. Summers trained Mind Your Biscuits to a third-place finish in that year's Breeders' Cup Sprint before a repeat victory in the 2018 Golden Shaheen.
Summers won the 2026 running of the $2 million Preakness Stakes with Napoleon Solo, a horse he also trained to victory in the 2025 Grade 1 Champagne Stakes at Aqueduct. Napoleon Solo bested a 14-horse field at Laurel Park to win the second jewel of racing's Triple Crown, giving Summers his first career win in a Triple Crown race.
