Independence Day falls on a Friday this year, setting up an exciting three-day weekend in North American horse racing highlighted by the biggest racecard of the meet at Horseshoe Indianapolis, a special holiday racing festival in New York, and the kickoff of the summer meet at western Kentucky’s Ellis Park.

A stakes-packed card is on the schedule at Horseshoe Indianapolis Saturday, July 5, highlighted by the $300,000 Indiana Derby. The card also includes the Indiana Oaks and six other stakes, and will be broadcast live on FanDuel TV. That network will also show live racing each day from Ellis Park, which has its opening card on Thursday, July 3, and runs for four consecutive days ending Sunday, July 6. Other tracks with live racing on FanDuel TV this week include Gulfstream Park, Woodbine, and Prairie Meadows, which runs the Iowa Derby, Iowa Oaks, and Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Handicap Saturday evening.

While Belmont Park continues with its rebuilding project due to be completed in fall 2026, its July 4 Racing Festival has been moved to Saratoga Race Course this year, serving as an appetizer for racing fans in advance of Saratoga’s opening day of its traditional summer meet, which is Thursday, July 10. NYRA’s “America’s Day at the Races” will have extensive coverage of the four-day festival from Thursday, July 3, to Sunday, July 6 airing on FOX Sports. (A Saturday evening harness racing broadcast is also scheduled from the Meadowlands.) Check the below schedule for channels and times.

Horse racing from tracks around the world is available to subscribers on Racetrack Television Network (RTN), which can be livestreamed on all devices (computer, tablet and smartphone) and on TV via DISH Network, Amazon Fire and Roku.

America’s Best Racing has two livestreams this week focusing on the Indiana Derby and other big races Saturday at Horseshoe Indianapolis. First, Dan Tordjman and Ryan Anderson will host the “Indiana Derby Preview Show” Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. ET with featured guest Rachel McLaughlin, TV commentator and analyst at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The show streams on ABR’s Facebook, X, and YouTube channels.

Then on Saturday, don’t miss “Indiana Derby LIVE!” airing during Horseshoe Indy’s racecard. Host Ryan Anderson welcomes J.D. Fox and other special guests to handicap the day’s races and uncover some longshot winners. The show has a start time of 5 p.m. ET and will stream on ABR’s Facebook, X, and YouTube channels.
