Horse racing action in North America kicks into overdrive this upcoming weekend, with four qualifying points preps for the 2022 Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve on the schedule for Saturday, March 5.

At Santa Anita Park, the San Felipe Stakes is set to run at 5:30 p.m. ET, while across the country at Gulfstream Park, the Fasig-Tipton Fountain of Youth Stakes will run at 5:42 p.m. ET. Both of these preps offer Derby 148 qualifying points to the top four finishers on a 50-20-10-5 basis.

The Fountain of Youth and San Felipe are part of a smorgasbord of top-quality races at Gulfstream and Santa Anita as part of 1/ST Racing’s 1/ST SATURDAY event. To learn more about this coast-to-coast betting extravaganza, click here.

At Aqueduct, the Gotham Stakes will also offer Derby points on a 50-20-10-5 distribution, while later Saturday evening, the John Battaglia Memorial Stakes at Turfway Park offers points on a 10-4-2-1 basis.

NBC Sports will broadcast both the San Felipe and Fountain of Youth during a two-hour show on CNBC from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET. The show will feature analysis and commentary from Britney Eurton, Randy Moss, Jerry Bailey, Nick Luck, and Eddie Olczyk.

The Gotham Stakes will be broadcast on “America’s Day at the Races.” The NYRA-produced show will also televise other races from Aqueduct as well as Oaklawn Park and Tampa Bay Downs. “America’s Day at the Races” airs from Friday to Sunday on FS2 – check the schedule below.

All four Derby preps will air on TVG as part of their comprehensive package that also includes a live broadcast of the Santa Anita Handicap Presented by Yaamava’ Resort & Casino Saturday at 8 p.m. ET.
